Manama: Under the patronage of His Excellency Zayed bin Rashid Al-Zayani, the Minister of Industry and Commence, Dar Al-Bilad launched 50 top companies in Bahrain for the year 2022, to shed light on the leading role the local companies had in supporting the economic growth of the country. Bahrain National Holding (BNH), the premier Bahraini insurance Group, was included in the list of top 50 Bahraini companies.
The initiative aim was to support and celebrate local companies for their efforts in building and developing the economy of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The evaluation committee was composed of the President of the Bahrain Economists Society, Dr. Omar Al-Obaidly, as the chairman, Dr. Abdul Qader and Warasma as a legal advisor, and the Managing Partner of Grant Thornton, Mr. Jassim Abdul-Aal as an external auditor, and the UN consultant Dr. Faisal Abdul-Qader as an advisory member.
Dar Al Bilad’s list was based on four main criteria for selecting the 50 Top Companies in Bahrain. It was based on the financial data for the year ending on December 31, 2021, which are market value, total assets, net profit and sales or total income. The Group’s market capitalization for the year ending on 31 December 2021 reached BD 50 million and the total assets reached BD119.3 million. As for the Group’s profit, it amounted to BD 6.6 million, which is registered as a record profit, as it surpassed the 2020 net profit of BD 5.21 million by 28%. As for the Group’s Insurance premiums they reached BD 39.8 million for the year ending in 2021.
